Life can feel hard and overwhelming, but as much as you feel nothing is working, this therapy gives you the knowledge and techniques that you can use to cope with life now and in the future.

Yes. I only ever had this therapy online. For younger primary children I would advise face to face over online, especially for the really young ones. Online does work really well for older children especially those in year 10 or 11 where missing school can become an issue during exam time.

Hypnosis is a natural, focused state of attention that allows the brain to become less reactive and more receptive to change. It is a state that we enter daily – for example when reading, driving or exercising.
In therapy, this state is used deliberately to reduce stress and interrupt unhelpful automatic patterns.
It’s when our sub-conscious and conscious mind come together to focus on the same thing.

Most clients require 8-12 sessions, depending on their goals and circumstances. Clinical Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is designed to work efficiently.
Progress is reviewed regularly and therapy continues only while it is useful.

Yes. Trance is a natural brain state that everyone experiences daily.
The difference in therapy is not whether someone can enter trance but how effectively it is guided and applied. Children do not enter a trance like state like you would expect an adult to. Hypnosis is an incredibly powerful way to access our subconscious and change thought patterns. It is relaxing and helps achieve results . You will never not be in control. Children do not go into trance like adults do and while I am reading the word patterns to the children they have the choice to colour or play with fidgets while they are listening to my voice or lie down, sit up. It is a lovely relaxing part of the session.
No special ability or effort is required.

Yes. Hypnosis is safe, collaborative and client led.
You remain fully aware and in control at all times. Hypnotherapy cannot override your values, morals or judgement and nothing happens without your consent.

Yes. This therapy is one of the kindest therapies for any child with a SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) need. I have seen many children who have a diagnosis. The purpose of this therapy is to reduce anxiety, it doesn’t matter whether you are neurotypical or not. The focus is on the future and not the diagnosis. It is possible if agreed with school that sessions can be funded through a child’s EHCP.
